DUSKLIT 2018 Call for Art

We’ve just opened the application portal for our 2018 festival and we’d love for you to apply. Now in it’s third year, DUSKLIT is the East Coast’s one night interactive art festival. With twilight as a backdrop, DUSKLIT features over 25 immersive installations, performances, and site-specific environments. Artists are encouraged to submit proposals for a roving performance/installation, or a stationary 10 x 10′ environment/installation/performance. Proposals must consider visitor engagement, inviting visitors to participate rather than spectate. Collaboration is encouraged. DUSKLIT is an artist-run festival. (more…)

The Ucross Foundation Residency Program

Currently accepting applications for residencies of 2-6 weeks. Located on a 20,000-acre working cattle ranch in the foothills of Wyoming’s Bighorn Mountains, the Foundation provides individual workspace, living accommodations, uninterrupted time and the experience of the historic High Plains landscape to selected writers, artists, and composers working in all disciplines. Grant Opportunity: A. Eric Arctander Grant

  • Collaborative Concepts in conjunction with the Putnam Arts Council, is again offering the A. Eric Arctander Grant for 2018. Deadline to apply is no later than June 15, 2018.
  • Visual artists, 25 to 45, who are full time residents of either Dutchess, Westchester or Putnam Counties are eligible to apply. The grant is a $1,000.00 stipend.

Poughkeepsie Gateway Project

The Poughkeepsie Gateway Beautification Project calls for an artist to propose a design that will be painted on the underpass on Main Street, Poughkeepsie. The area painted will include two aprons directly under Rt. 9 on each side and a total of 12 columns (6 on each side of Main St). The most competitive designs will reflect the local Poughkeepsie community

Call for Artists and Makers

All work offered must be original and made in the Mid-Hudson region.Work should be made by hand or with the use of artists’ tools, whether it is a potter’s wheel or hi-tech printer, and should be made with the artist’s individual vision in mind.  Deadline to apply is February 23, 2018 by 5pm (more…)

Arts Mid-Hudson | Call for Poetry

Deadline: February 12, 2018

Arts Mid-Hudson seeks poetry submissions for inclusion in the upcoming exhibition, Artist’s Respond to Poetry, which will be on view at Arts Mid-Hudson’s gallery March 23 – April 22, 2018.

Selected submissions will be compiled, and made available to a group of visual artists; artists will then choose a poem to respond to through their work. The poems and artwork will be displayed together in the final exhibit.

  • Poets may submit up to three poems for consideration
  • Poems may not exceed 30 lines
  • Poems must be suitable to be hung in a public gallery
  • Some poets may be invited to participate in public readings at Arts Mid-Hudson’s gallery

Shandaken: Storm King – Applications for Artist Residency Program

Now Accepting Applications for Shandaken: Storm King Artist Residency Program Offering Free Housing and Private Studios on the Grounds of the Art Center

The residency follows a process-focused model — giving preference to experimentation, research, and risk-taking in the studio. Residents work in private studios on Storm King’s 500-acre site, with access to the landscape and collection. Shandaken: Storm King will award 15 to 20 residencies as part of the 2018 season, which takes place June 4 to September 30. Residencies are two, four or six weeks in length, with three artists on site at a time. Artists of all disciplines are invited to apply for this opportunity to live and work on the grounds of the Art Center. Apply here
