Max’s On Main – Full service restaurant serving inventive American comfort food. Open 7 days with live music on the weekends.

When did you launch your business?
May 8th, 2006

Did you start in Beacon?

If yes, why did you decide to start your business here?
We started our search alphabetically and Aruba was taken.

Is there one thing about your business that you would really like folks to know?
We are a family business that was named in honor of our father, Max Kaplan. Everyone should think that their father was a great man and we did. We try to run our business in a manner the way our father would have done, so that he would be proud of us. We try to make everyone feel comfortable, not only our customers but the employees too. We try to treat them like they have come to our house.

When did you become a member of BeaconArts and why?
We joined Beacon Arts in May 2006 to help promote Beacon as an art and cultural destination.

Where are you from originally?
We were born in The Bronx. However, we grew up in Yonkers which borders on The Bronx. As you may already know, Yonkers has great pizza.

What is your favorite book?
Call Of The Wild

Do you have a favorite place, event or thing to do in Beacon?
We like to walk Main St, meet with all of our friends and pet the dogs.

How do you think Beacon is different from other Hudson Valley cities?
Max’s On Main is in Beacon.

Using your imagination, describe Beacon five years from now.
Beacon will remain a melting pot of people from many walks of life, progress will be made on the incline railroad, Dia:Beacon will be so popular that the MTA will add ten trains to Beacon every day Harvey and Richie Kaplan will find a powerful plant in the back of Max’s on Main which will enable them to grow a full head of hair.
