Folk Artist Mentoring Grant for Traditional Artists

New York Folklore Society (NYFS) offers year-round funding for artist-to-artist or arts administrative mentoring and professional development exchanges.

Is there a mentor you have always wanted to study with, to help get your arts administrative skills (such as social media marketing, fundraising, archival preservation, videography, bookkeeping) up to the next level? Would you like to work with a master artist in your folk arts tradition to expand your repertoire as a performer or maker?

The NYFS Mentoring and Professional Development program invites you to apply for funds to support up to five days of one-on-one, intensive exchange with a qualified mentor of your choice in New York State. Mentors will be paid. Transportation and other expenses are also covered. NYFS Regional Representative Eileen Condon will describe this program and explain how to apply.
