The Mystery Unveiled | Fine Art Paintings from Bannerman’s Island

Ongoing through August 4

Bannerman Gallery
150 Main Street, Beacon

This past Saturday, June 1st, twenty-five professional artists painted on historic Bannerman’s Island for the day. The beautiful island, located just North of Cold Spring and South of Beacon in the heart of the Hudson River Highlands – is known for some of the most impressive and beautiful views on the Hudson River! Detailed views of Bannerman Castle, the original Bannerman residence, the island’s gardens and picturesque towers in the water were focal points for many artists – which include many of the Hudson Valley’s most popular Plein-Air (landscape) painters. Ongoing through Sunday August 4th.

The public is invited to this exciting reception to view the newly created works and meet the artists from 4:00 – 7:00 pm this coming Saturday, June 8th. Attendees can expect to see many different styles of painting the landscape (traditional to abstract) represented in oil, acrylic, pastel and watercolor – each work truly unique and original!  Gallery hours are Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm and most weekday afternoons by chance or appointment, by calling 845-831-1001.

Bannerman’s Island is accessible by the Estuary Steward Tour Boat, leaving from both the Beacon and Newburgh Docks by reservation only – please visit if you are interested in taking a tour or if you would like to attend one of the fabulous Performing Arts events the BCT will be hosting now through October!
