Howland Public Library
313 Main Street, Beacon
Stop by the Howland Public Library on Thursday, June 13th, from 4-6pm for a special closing reception of Advanced Art, an exhibition of student artwork from the 8th Grade Advanced Art class from Rombout Middle School. All are welcome.
The Advanced Art Class meets with their teacher, Mr. Trad, one hour before the regular school day starts. The special course is designed to fulfill the student’s 9th grade art credit. That means that students who complete the class not only earn high school credits, they are also able to take upper level art courses when they get to high school. In this concentrated class, students examine the principles of art, 2D design and compositional elements through the creation of landscapes, still life, portraits, and more. Stop by to see the wonderful art created by these talented teens. The exhibit includes drawings, paintings, collage and sculptures and will be on view until June 15th.
The Howland Public Library is located at 313 Main Street in Beacon, NY. The Community Room is open during regular library hours. Please note the gallery may not be accessible during some library programs. Please call the library at 845-831-1134 or consult the library calendar at beaconlibrary.org before planning your visit.
