new paintings by Karl LaLonde. “I’ve been painting pretty much my entire life and have shown for over 50 years,” Karl says. “I love color and I’m not afraid to use it. This show is much of my latest work with a variety of styles I love.” On view through April 7, 2019.
Karl spent his high school and college years right here in the Hudson Valley. “I was fortunate to have learned from very talented art teachers as well as my track coach, a master photographer.” He studied at Dutchess Community College for Commercial Art and Bard College for Photography. His career began with IBM in their TV studio. He started at the bottom and learned camera, lighting, set design and all aspects of TV production. As one of IBM’s art directors, he directed and produced his own TV productions as well as being a graphics designer.
Karl LaLonde is a photographer as well as a painter. “My wife, Kathy and I have traveled all over the northeast for as long as we’ve been together. I have thousands of photos from our many trips! I have a storage unit that’s nearly full of paintings and framed photos. I want people to enjoy my work, and I price painting to sell. I want these in people’s homes.”
Karl and his wife, Kathy, are co-owners of RiverWinds Gallery.
