After a sold out run of last summer’s #QueenE, HUDSON VALLEY THEATRE INITIATIVE is thrilled to announce their second annual summer community musical, The original musical: Brave Tailor Maid. Two additional performances will be held at the James Earl Jones Theater at Poughkeepsie Day School (260 Boardman Rd, Poughkeepsie NY 12603) on August 16th and 17th, 2019 both at 7pm. This show has been created for an adult theatre audience, but children 7 and up are also encouraged to attend.

An energetic retelling of the Brother’s Grimm Fairy Tale “The Brave Little Tailor”, Mud Brud Mayhem’s Brave Tailor Maid will delight audiences of all ages with story and song, as the tailor maid of Queen Jordith’s mountain kingdom must conquer giants, befriend a dangerous unicorn, and adjust to life slipping out of her control. As the story unfolds, audiences are invited to explore themes of gender, identity, friendship, and community.

This production features the talents of local performers from Dutchess, Ulster, Putnam, and Orange counties, primarily centered in the City of Beacon. The cast is headed by Maggie Berke, as Jayny the Tailor Maid, Emily Boone, as Candlin the friend, and Jeffrey Easter, as Skunk. All of whom reside in Beacon. The show was written and conceived by Todd Hulet, with support by Beacon business owners, Lila Barchetto of Majestic Beast Antiques (costume design), and Aimee deSimone of ShopBerte.com (production assistance).

All ages will be admitted. Presale Tickets $18, At-The-Door Tickets $25. Family four-pack available for $15 per ticket. For more information including how to join the chorus and to purchase tickets, Please visit HVTI.org.
