“Hudson Valley Beauty”: photos by Mark Rosengarten at RiverWinds Gallery

Artists’ Reception Saturday, February 10th
5 – 8pm

RiverWinds Gallery
172 Main Street – Beacon

Mark Rosengarten started teaching high school chemistry in 1988, back when he was playing at knowing how to use a camera. He decided in 2012 to get serious about it so he bought a digital SLR and never looked back. He keeps his camera in the car just in case the chance for capturing the beauty of the Hudson Valley arises during the day. He will leave for work (he’s still teaching chemistry) hours before he needs to just to capture the sun rising over the Hudson Highlands from Plum Point in New Windsor or Cornwall Landing, the sun setting from Long Dock Park in Beacon or the Moodna Viaduct in Salisbury Mills. He will leave on the spur of the moment at night if reports of northern lights look promising for the relatively dark skies over the AshokanReservoir near Kingston. The show runs through March 4, 2018
