Sculptor Ed Benavente is the artist behind what is becoming a beloved and unique tradition for the City of Beacon. “Bicycles, like communities, are powered by people,” states Benavente. The bicycle tree, which has doubled in size since it’s inaugural appearance in 2011, is fabricated entirely of recycled bicycle parts. Benavente’s sculptures can be seen in Beacon and cities across the United States.  Ed has also created a menorah made form bicycle parts – find out more about Hannukah 2017 here: Illumin8 2017: BHA + BeaconArts Bicycle Menorah.
