The Beacon Sloop Club Annual Corn Festival

Rain/Shine. Freshly picked local Hudson Valley corn cooked over an open fire and sold for the traditional buck-an-ear. Chili (meat and vegetarian) and sweet watermelon are also available for purchase. Dozens of craft vendors sell handmade goods & food vendors offer a variety of lunch options. Children’s activities, environmental education tent with displays and speakers on subjects concerning the Hudson River, pollution, and other environmental issues. Two solar-powered music stages offer live music performances throughout the day on a children’s stage near the entrance to the festival and on an earthen mound that hosts the main music stage. The children’s stage will feature Bindlestick Bill, Ken Miller, Lydia Adams Davis, Purpose, Nellybombs, Solar Sound and the Trouble Sisters. Performing on the main stage will be Hank Woji, Judith Tullock Band, Sarah Underhill, Spook Handy, The Howland Wolves, The Tree Huggers, Mell & Vinnie. Free Admission. (more info)
