Welcome and Introductions

Big turnout, several new attendees!

Description of BeaconArts mission, and role as non-profit, and how it helps artists, organizations, and projects

meet monthly to discuss projects and network and bring people together

  • Windows on Main not happening this yr, but will start to plan for next yr starting in Nov- volunteers welcome
  • Beacon 3D – sculptures installed along Main St

planning to create acquisition fund to purchase a sculpture for Beacon 3D collection/City of Beacon

The Yawner by Jon Reichert, part of Beacon 3D sculpture project, is repaired and re-installed at Bank Sq terrace

Beacon and Beyond

  • Howland Library fundraiser- small works show- call for submission, and silent auctionSee website for info or visit Michelle Rivas at library
  • One Hour Workshops- new idea by Ed Benavente; Sat mornings 9-10 am with coffee and donuts; members can share ideas and suggest or teach topics, ed@beaconarts.org. First one taught by Ed- knot tying 9-10 am at Welcome Center in Polhill Park on July 30.
  • Aug 13, 10-12 Robin’s Nest- workshop for artists at Compass arts
  • Fireball Run, Sept 28 – City is looking for artists interested in painting the street; this is a show similar to Great American Race, filming 3 – 6p on Wednesday September 28, showcasing Dutchess County and Beacon.  More info:http://fireballrun.com and here on our website: http://beaconarts.org/artists-wanted-street-painting-project/
