For over 25 years the Towne Crier’s legendary Open Mic Nights have drawn top talent from throughout the Hudson Valley and beyond, including Sloan Wainwright, the Slambovian Circus Of Dreams and Red Molly. Known as a true “listening room,” it provides artists with a respectful performance space, and live music fans with the best entertainment value around. Don Lowe hosts. For a variety of reasons, after trial and error, email signups have not worked out, so we are discontinuing it. The former email address will NOT be monitored. Signups are exclusively in person (no phone signups either) between 5 and 7pm day of the open mic. Show up early in order to pick a slot (with the host’s consent and at his/her sole discretion!) Get On Down at the Towne Crier Dance Jam. A vibrant mix of R&B, Latin, Soul, Funk, Reggae, Rock, Disco, Blues & more is played by DJs Rhoda and Al in the rear performance room. New song selections are added at each dance, always aiming for the music to be moving, exciting and beautiful. Song requests welcome.

The restaurant specializes in mid-priced, farm-fresh cuisine using local ingredients whenever possible, and desserts are made fresh daily by acclaimed pastry chef Mary Ciganer. Full bar service is available.

The sound is superb, the lighting is low and the ambiance is warm and intimate. These dances are informal and even if you come alone, you can always find a friendly partner on the dance floor. Travel back in time as you walk by lantern-light with a costumed guide through the streets of Beacon. Learn local lore, legends, and ghostly tales of haunted places throughout our area. Meet five spirits from Beacon’s 300-year history. Tours last one hour and begin at 6:00pm every half hour on October 12, 13, 25, and 26.
