2019 Dutchess County Poet Laureate CALL FOR NOMINATIONS!

Nominations may come from individuals or organizations within or outside Dutchess County. Poets may self nominate. Nominees for the Dutchess County Poet Laureate must:

  1. Reside in Dutchess County for at least two years.
  2. Be a published author with a body of high quality work.
  3. Be comfortable in the performance of poetry in public.
  4. Be interested in presenting a sense of the community through poetry.
  5. Be willing to advocate and educate people about poetry.

Nominations for 2019 Dutchess County’s Poet Laureate must be submitted by January 2, 2019 to the Arts Mid-Hudson office. Click here for more details and to fill out the online application.

DEADLINE EXTENDED! 2019 Alan Cooper Leadership in the Arts Award

Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation (MAAF) has extended the nomination deadline for the 2019 Alan Cooper Leadership in the Arts Award. Named after MAAF’s Executive Director from 1994-2017, the Alan Cooper Award honors an arts leader who has impacted the arts sector in meaningful ways including creating model programs, developing innovative partnerships, and embodying dedication to the arts and diverse artistic expression. Though not necessary for nomination, MAAF is interested in recognizing an arts leader who has made significant contributions via public-private partnerships or in international cultural exchange.

Nominations are now being accepted through Friday, November 30, 2018. Eligible nominees will have demonstrated impactful leadership in the arts within MAAF’s nine state region of DC, DE, MD, NJ, NY, PA, USVI, VA, or WV. The awardee will be selected in spring 2019 and be recognized at the May 2019 MAAF board meeting. In addition to the acknowledgement event, the awardee will receive a cash honorarium of $2,500.

USArtists International Deadline Approaching on November 30!

The USArtists International (USAI) application is open and the second deadline of the 2018-2019 program cycle is Friday, November 30, 2018 for engagements taking place between March 15, 2019, and March 14, 2020. If you applied at the September deadline, you will be notified by November 27.

Committed to the presence of U.S. artists on world stages, USArtists International provides grants to ensembles and individual performers in dance, music and theater invited to perform at significant international festivals and performing arts markets abroad. Determine if you are eligible by reviewing the program guidelines.
