Local Beacon artist, Kristie Phillipson, will present an art installation in the windows of the Bank Square Coffee House that celebrates both the various coffee house characters in our community and the place that brings them together. The installation will be up 8/14 – 9/11, this is an interactive artistic collaboration where you the community can come in and draw your own coffee house character, write about what the local coffee house means to you, or just sign your name to the character that best represents you (or your favorite cup). Are you a regular Cup O' Joe, a Smoothie Suzie, a Darjeeling Darla, or a Mocha Mike? All submissions will be placed in the windows allowing the installation to change and grow as you the community come in and share your voice.

Greetings Friends and Neighbors:
You have asked and I have listened. Back by popular demand, Fair Trade gift items, produced by industrious and talented people from around the world, these handcrafted products are not only unique and beautiful, but help to support and encourage people who have no other means of earning a living. The artisans are paid a guaranteed fair wage for their labors of love, enabling them to feed their families, educate their children and increase their standard of living. Plus, they often use recycled or reclaimed materials in their handiwork, so your purchase is an all-around conscious choice.
Here are a few of the great handcrafted Fair Trade items you will find at Paper Presence:
Hemp journals from Vietnam
Batik journals and handmade papers from India
Recycled paper magnets from Thailand – pigs, frogs and dragonflies
Wire and bead frogs from Zimbabwe
Animal themed gourd rattles from Peru
Raffia and papyrus handwoven baskets from Uganda
Lots more too – so please stop in soon to see our selection.
Oh, and through July, for every item (Fair Trade or not) purchased at regular price, you will receive 25% off the second item.
Peace to all.
Lydia Lynch
