Grant Opportunity: Arts Education Grant Program for Individual Artists and Organizations, NYSCA re-grant through DCAC. Due April 9.

dcaclogoArts Education Grant Program for Individual Artists and Organizations
Application Deadline: Tuesday, April 9, 2013 @ 2pm
The Arts Education Grant Program is a local re-grant program of the Dutchess County Arts Council. These grants are made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program of the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA). Founded in 1977, the Decentralization Program (DEC) was developed to ensure that New York State’s cultural funding reaches every part of the state.  Decentralization serves as an umbrella for three distinct funding categories: Community Arts (Project Grants), Arts Education and the Individual Artists Tier.
The Arts Education category supports partnerships between individual artists or cultural organizations and schools that provide rich artistic learning experiences for students in K-12 grades. New this year: applicants will be either an individual artist or a cultural organization in partnership with a public school. Eligible projects must focus on the exploration of art and the artistic process. Inter-curricular collaboration is encouraged.
Application Seminars will be held in both Dutchess and Ulster Counties. Attendance is required for new applicants, and encouraged for returning applicants, to learn of the program’s priorities, and how to develop a competitive application.  All interested parties are welcome, whether or not they have a specific project already identified. Seminars will be held:

Woodstock School of Art
2470 Rt 212, Woodstock
