BeaconArts Member Meet Up ~ June 2017

Wednesday, June 28th

::6:30 doors; 7:00 meeting::

291 Main Street | The Telephone Building | GildedTwig.com

The last Wednesday (and sometimes the 4th Wednesday) of every month is our monthly BeaconArts Member Meet Up!

This month our hosts are Deborah Bigelow of Gilded Twig and Aaron Verdile – Financial Advisor at Prudential, also known as the 291 Main Street – The Telephone Building. Telephone Building owner and art conservator Deborah Bigelow will welcome us into her magnificent building – a work of art unto itself – and let us in on the history behind the building and her own beautiful work. Aaron Verdile – BeaconArts Treasurer, and proprietor of one of the businesses housed in the Telephone Building (Aaron Verdile -Prudential, BEAHIVE, A Little Beacon Blog, etc) will lead us through and answer questions about the pending BeaconArts general operating budget, after which we as a membership body will vote whther or not to approve. As always, there will be updates on BeaconArts projects and other member news.

We will also be discussing and answering questions about Windows on Main Street a special exhibition and project of BeaconArts that partners artists with local business owners to transform Beacon’s streetscape.  The collaborative work uses storefront displays as a means to foster dialogue between the artist and business-owner for the creation of site-specific work; between the specific work and passersby; and between the collective exhibition and the greater community at large.  For more information click here.
