The Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with previous recipients of the Forty Under 40 Award, has identified a talented and diverse group of young professionals in the Hudson Valley to be presented with a Shaker Award. Bestowed annually to 40 people under the age of 40 who have shown a strong commitment to the Hudson Valley, the Shaker Awards honor the next generation of leaders in our region.
“After completing this year’s selection process, I couldn’t be more optimistic about the future of the Hudson River Valley,” said Charles North, President and CEO of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce. “Congratulations to all of the 2013 honorees. I know you’ll continue to do great things in our community for many years to come.”
Chosen from a pool of over 75 applicants, the 2013 Forty Under 40 honorees range in age from 18 to 39 with recipient professions encompassing schoolteachers to consultants and everything in between. In a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit being alive and well in young people, 10 of the 40 honored individuals own and operate their own business. The complete list of the 2013 Forty Under 40, a true representation of the best of the best throughout the entire Hudson Valley, can be found online here.
The Shaker Awards will be officially presented on Tuesday, April 23 at the Bardavon Opera House. A cocktail reception at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel will precede the ceremony. Complete information about the event including how to obtain tickets will be released on Friday, March 1 at dcrcoc.org.
