Seeking Artists: The Week of the Young Child

March 2, 2017

On Tuesday April 4th (10am and/or  2pm) we are celebrating the ARTS by inviting local artists to visit our program and discuss their artwork and create a special project with our children.

Head Start is a comprehensive preschool program for low income families. Every year we celebrate “The Week of the Young Child” (WOYC) sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The purpose of the WOYC is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.  Please let us know if you are interested by contacting us at 845-562-0380 | : Gillian Ramkalawon at

Please let us know:

  • The time(s) you are available (10am &/2pm)
  • How long you are able to stay (20 minute increments)- this helps us determine how many classrooms you can cover
  • The materials you will need- For example: last year a few artists introduced abstract painting with water colors and we purchased water colors
